HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT MEN'S WEDDING BAND

You have to go back to the Second World War to find evidence of the origins of Men’s Wedding Bands. Prior to this time, it was only the women who wore a wedding band. Today Men and Women exchange rings whilst exchanging their wedding vows.

Variety

Nowadays there is a huge variety of men's wedding bands to choose from. Traditional Gold,
Silver and nowadays Platinum are very popular. These can be quite expensive, though. Another metal being used these days is Titanium and I have seen some made from a high-grade stainless steel. Most men have a passion for the simple styles, with a solid band, some others like to bling it up a little with Diamonds and other exotic stones. There is also the option to have it engraved.

Where to Buy

You can visit a Jeweller or search Amazon or maybe even spend a lot of time trawling and search through obscure antique stores to find that special band. Note, men's wedding bands aren’t as common as women’s, so you might need quite a bit of patience, and be prepared to visit many a store.

Cleaning and Maintenance

After you have taken the big step and married, and you are in no doubt devoted to your lovely new wife. You will want to/be required to, wear your new wedding band 24/7, or you may choose to take it off at nite. Either way, you will need to take care of it. Occasional cleaning your men's wedding bands when necessary. The most common cleaning solutions are all Ammonia based. Be sure to take care around stones and engravings as these will be the hardest to clean areas.

Cultural differences

Most western cultures dictate that the man wears his wedding band on the ring finger (the fourth finger starting at the thumb) on the left hand. Now some other cultures have the men's wedding bands on the right hand, and in fact, some have the men wear the ring on the right hand whilst engaged and move it over to the left hand when married.
