How To Downplay Plus Size Wedding Dresses

While it is customary to make the bride the most beautiful person in the hall, you can’t really boost the morale of a plus size bride quite easily just by simply putting the perfect makeup on her. Even if her face looks great, there’s still the body to handle. But that shouldn’t be a problem if you simply know how to shop for the perfect plus size wedding dresses. And the moment that you’ve got the right one in your hands, you’ll say that size doesn’t really matter at all. After all, many men want their woman large enough.

All a plus size bride has to do is to shop around for the ideal wedding dress that would fit her perfectly. And one of her better choices is an organza gown with tiered ruffles. The ruffles will downplay her body size because the gown is going to be huge by itself. The high waist and balloon bottom of the gown is perfect to hide the flab of a plus size bride.

However, if you don’t want to wear a ballroom type of a gown on your wedding day, another great option is the empire cut wedding gown. Its V-shaped neckline would enhance the fullness of your bust while the A-cut shirt will hide those hips away. Again, go for the high cut waist. That’s the key to keeping the belly from being highlighted.

Sweetheart cuts and asymmetric cuts are ideal as well. These plus size wedding dresses tend to take off the focus on your body and place it on your shoulders instead. As for the material used for the gown, organza, sheer, and chiffon are your best choices. It’s also okay to wear satin but you’ve got to be very particular about the cut and the look for the gown, as satin could innocently highlight those bumps.
